W. David Fay joined Morgan Stanley Smith Barney as a Financial Advisor in 2004. He brings to the firm a strong business background featuring over fourteen years experience with organizations ranging from the Fortune 500 to start-ups. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley Smith Barney he was Chief Operating Officer with a regional mortgage lender.
Mr. Fay holds two Masters Degrees: an M.B.A. from University of Arizona’s Eller School of Management and an M.L.A. from Southern Methodist University. He also holds a B.A. from Texas Tech University.
David successfully passed the NASD (it is now called FINRA) series 7, 63 & 65 exams and holds Arizona Life and Variable Life insurance licenses. He is certified to manage financial portfolios under Morgan Stanley Smith Barney’s Guided Portfolio Management (GPM) program as well as offer professional financial advice through Morgan Stanley Smith Barney Advisor and TRAK NAV. He also has completed various leadership classes and numerous corporate sponsored Professional Development programs throughout his career.
Prior to relocating in Arizona, David served in several managerial roles in Dallas, Texas. He was the recipient of numerous recognitions and awards including the prestigious “President’s Award” for “Outstanding Sales Achievement” at jobs.com. He also earned the National Representative of the Year award while with ALK Laboratories. The awards were based on top sales performance and client satisfaction.
Throughout his fourteen-year career in the corporate world, he has handled a diversity of high profile finance, management, sales and marketing, and human resources responsibilities.
David’s affiliations include serving as a Deacon at Catalina Foothills Presbyterian Church.
