Marah chose to focus on a career in wealth management at an early age and very much enjoys her work today. In 1998, Marah’s family sold their privately-held business to a public company. Her experience of the financial planning that took place both before and after the transaction provided her with a valuable perspective and as a result, she decided to pursue a career in wealth management. Today, Marah is a member of the firm’s Blue Chip Council, a distinction awarded to the top ten percent of Financial Advisors nationwide who, within their first five years, demonstrate the highest professional standards and excellence in client service.
Prior to joining Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, Marah attended Muhlenberg College where she obtained a dual degree in Economics and Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurial Studies. While at Muhlenberg, Marah co-founded the Eureka! Project, an initiative aimed at revamping Allentown’s historic downtown business district. She worked closely with local business owners to recruit and retain local talent within the Lehigh Valley; her efforts and the success of the program earned her the Student Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2002.
Marah is committed to making a difference in her local community and is especially interested in initiatives aimed at financial literacy for women and young adults. She serves as a mentor at the Urban Assembly School of Business for Young Women and is a member of American Business Women’s Association. Marah lives in Manhattan and is a proud parent of an active four-year-old boy named Finnegan.
