Being a Financial Advisor is all about building relationships with clients. By learning more about you and your needs, I am able to offer more personalized advice and service. Please read below to learn more about me.
EARLY HISTORY
Like so many fellow Raleigh residents, I was born and raised in New York. I came to North Carolina to attend Duke University, receiving my BS degree in 1979. Shortly thereafter, I was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps and served my country as an Infantry Officer. While serving, I married my devoted wife Lauren Steinman of Greenville, SC. I earned my MA in Management from Webster University while in the Marines and, in 1986, resigned my commission as a Captain and moved back to Raleigh, NC to begin my career as a Financial Advisor.
FINANCIAL EXPERIENCE
Since 1986, I have been a Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. In 1997, I earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CPF) designation. In 2000, I completed the Chartered Mutual Fund CounselorSM program. And in 2008, I earned the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst designation.
FAMILY MAN
Lauren and I were married in 1982. She has her Masters in Social Work (MSW) and has her own private practice here in Raleigh. Our three daughters are Jill, a senior at UNC-Chapel Hill, Jayme, a freshman at Appalachian State University, and Jenna, a sophomore at Sanderson High School.
OUTSIDE THE OFFICE
I am a dedicated husband and father. I support my wife’s career and my girls’ academic efforts. I am an avid reader and I would be happy to recommend some of my favorites that have inspired me personally and professionally.
